About us

Torbay Physiotherapy Practice is conveniently located at the Torbay Leisure Centre.

I established the Torbay Physiotherapy Practice in 2003, when I moved into the bay, and it has grown from strength to strength, serving Paignton, Torquay, Newton Abbot and Brixham- in fact, I have clients who are quite happy to travel from Exeter to see me! I qualified in my hometown of Durban, South Africa, with a first class honours degree in Physiotherapy in 1996, and gained my Acupuncture qualifications that same year. I gained valuable experience in South Africa working both in a sports injury private practice as well as in a spinal teaching hospital. I obtained credits towards my Masters in Spinal Manipulative Therapy at the University of Perth, Western Australia in 2001, as well as attending my level 1 Pilates qualification with APPI. I have since gone on to complete my level 3 Pilates as well as my Pilates equipment training.

I have a real thirst for knowledge and am always updating my skills, having recently attended an International Pilates Conference, Advanced Shoulder Rehabilitation course and obtained my certificate in Orthopaedic Medicine. I have added kinesiotaping and cupping to my treatments with very beneficial effect.

I am a firm believer in a thorough assessment to get to the root of the problem, and the importance of hands on therapy to manipulate and mobilize joints and soft tissues- but these must go hand in hand with a bespoke rehab program to gain the full benefit of treatment.
