Pilates is a system of exercise designed to develop core strength, thus protecting the spine.
Avisha first trained with the Australian Pilates and Physiotherapy Institute (APPI) in 2001 to complete her matwork Pilates. She then did her Equipment training with them in 2007, and in 2014 did the advanced Pilates for Runners course. She incorporates Pilates based rehab into all of her treatment, to ensure that you are learning tools to help you self-manage and protect your spine. She offers a one to one Pilates session, to enure that you learn the key elements of pilates practice. A physiotherapy/Pilates assessment is carried out looking at your posture and normal joint movement, so that we can discuss how you can adapt your Pilates , so that if you then do decide to do Pilates in a group setting you are all set to go and feel more confident.
